Park Wood Stud

Find Out More

Who we are

Park Wood is a well established TB Stud of 150 acres with outstanding facilities located between Badminton and Westonbirt in the South Cotswolds.  Redeveloped over the last 13 years, the farm has been the site for the breeding and rearing of top class bloodstock for both flat and NH racing. The Stud is owned by Mrs Ruth Pitman

What we do

We care for all the needs of Client's bloodstock - foaling permanently boarding or walked in brood mares; rearing young stock; pretraining and preparing for all the major sales; pretraining for the racetrack and providing rest and recuperation for horses out of their racing season.

Our philosophy

To run a professional and immaculate bloodstock operation where Client's precious horses and their welfare come first. To strive to provide each and every young horse with the optimum care and conditions to maximise their chances of success.

Permanently Boarding Broodmares

A select number of broodmares are permanently resident and receive outstanding care and attention in all aspects of their lives.

Broodmares for Foaling

We welcome walked-in mares for foaling and can offer advice on bloodlines and stallions to suit your mares.

We have set up a syndicate to purchase Irish bred NH foals at Tattersalls Sales in Ireland each November, selling as 3 YO stores with Goffs, Doncaster in May.

Horses for Pre-Training

Experienced staff can start your horses off in a kind, unpressurised way to maximise their chances on the racetrack.

Sales Preparation

All major sales accessed and advice given to help you maximise your young stock’s value.

Resting Racehorses

Both Flat and NH spellers are welcome at the Stud and are given the rest and nutrition to return them to their trainers on top form.
